ACA T20 Africa CUP - Route to Finals

Africa Cricket Association announced the fixture of  much anticipated ACA T20 Africa Cup. Teams are qualified for the ACA T20 Africa Cup through qualifying regional tournaments. End of 2018 marked the first edition of ACA T20 Cup regional tournaments quick started in Nigeria.  Kenya will host the tournament finals starting March 22. The tournament finals will be played in 2 groups, Group A includes Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi and Group B includes host Kenya, Botswana, Mozambique and Cameroon.

ACA T20 Africa Cup was announced by Africa Cricket Association to showcase african talents to the world, hence create a pathway to raise the game in entire Africa. As expected, conducting a tournament of this scale, was not without difficulties. Regional tournaments provided the platform to learn from the mistakes, understand the requirements to have a sucessful tournament which will last for years, provide entertaintment to cricket lovers, platform for the best african cricketers. Africa Cricket Association spent days, weeks and months to ensure the finals will be played at the highest standards.

The first edition of ACA T20 Africa Cup was initially conceived for 2 top teams of  Associate members from each Zone of Africa, namely Northwest, East and Central & Southern Africa  Zone will qualify for final rounds through regional qualifiers and South Africa,  Zimbabwe as Full Members will automatically qualify for Final rounds. However in later stage, it was decided under the circumstances and for the benefit of Associate members of Africa, after necessary consultations, the ACA T20 Africa Cup will be exclusively for Associate members with the view for a future All Associate Intercontinental tournaments. Under this circumstances, qualified 3rd position of regional participating countries, abiding MPA - Members Participating Agreement, from the qualifying rounds also qualified to maintain the 8 Nations Final round of ACA T20 Africa Cup.
